Preparing Your Files
To best service you, we ask that you prepare your information and files consistently. The following are
guidelines and file formats we work with.
File Names & Folders
▪ Short lowercase file names
▪ Underscore between words if needed
▪ If using date in file name, write year,month, day
underscore name. For example: 071206_asiamuseum.jpg
▪ Use folders to organize files for each page
Color Format & Image Resolution:
▪ Web: RGB 72dpi
▪ Print: CMYK 300dpi
Image Formats
▪ Photoshop files (.psd)
▪ Illustrator files (.ai)
▪ Graphic Interchange Format (.gif) - line art or logos
▪ Joint Photographic Experts Group (.jpg) - photos
▪ Tagged Image File Format (.tiff)
▪ Encapsulated PostScript (.eps)
Audio Formats
▪ MPEG-1 Audio Layer 3 (.mp3)
▪ Waveform (.wav)
▪ Audio Interchange File Format (.aiff)
Video Formats
▪ Quicktime (.mov)
▪ Video for Windows (.avi)
▪ MPEG (.mpg, .mpeg)
▪ Digital Video (.dv, .dvi)
▪ Windows Media (.asf, .wmv)
▪ Macromedia Flash Video (.flv)
Text File Formats
Remember text for all pages should be simple and concise. Think less is more. Proof-read and spell check. If you need to hire a writer, we can recommend a few. Just let us know!

Files can be burned to a disc and mailed or emailed. File too big to email? Here are some free services that can be used to get those file to us:
